Following are the steps to reset a Windows 7:

1. On the windows 7 login screen shutdown the PC.

2. press f8 button continuously and power on the PC.

3. On up arrow key select repair your computer   

4. When the keyboard / language setup screen appears, click the Repair your computer link at the bottom.

 5. Select Command Prompt from the list of recovery options.

 

6. Now you should be at the Command Prompt, enter the following commands, pressing Enter after each line. 

** Type notepad.exe > Hit enter

7. Go to This PC > Local disk C:> windows >system32>sethc.exe

8. rename sethc.exe to setch1.exe

 

 9. Go to This PC > Local disk C:> windows >system32>cmd.exe

 

10. rename cmd.exe to sethc.exe.

11. follow no point no:  26

 

Following are the steps to reset a Windows 8.1/10:

 12. On the windows 10 login screen shutdown the PC.

13. press left shift button continuously and power on the PC.

14. From chose an option select Troubleshoot.

15. From Troubleshoot select Advanced options.

16. Then select System Image Recovery.

17. Click on cancel.

18. Point on select a system image and press Next.

19. Click on Advanced.

20. Click on Install a driver.

21. Select OK.

22. Go to This PC > Local disk C:> windows >system32>Utilman.exe

23. Rename Utilman.exe to Utilman1.exe

24. Go to This PC > Local disk C:> windows >system32>cmd.exe

25. Rename cmd.exe to Utilman.exe

26. Restart the PC.

27. click on Ease of Access.

28. Type net user to see the list of user accounts.

29. then type net user user name*

30. Leave blank on both cases 1)Type a password for the user.
                                                  2)Retype the password to confirm. 

31. The message will show The command completed successfully
32. restart the PC.
33. Leave the black password and hit enter.
